DO I NEED A BUYER’S AGENT TO PURCHASE A HOME?
You are not required to use a buyer’s agent, but written representation gives you a professional who can advise you, negotiate for you, and guide the transaction from your home search through closing. Before we begin, we explain our role and the terms of representation in a Buyer Broker Agreement or Showing Agreement.
HOW DOES BUYER-AGENT COMPENSATION WORK?
Buyer-agent compensation is negotiable and is explained in your written Buyer Broker Agreement or Showing Agreement before we begin. In many of the transactions we handle, the seller agrees to pay some or all of our compensation. If the seller’s contribution is less than the amount in your agreement, you may be responsible for the difference unless another arrangement is negotiated. We review the numbers with you before you commit to an offer so there are no surprises.
HOW LONG DOES THE HOME BUYING PROCESS TAKE?
The timing depends on your search, financing, inspections, negotiations, and the terms of the contract. Once an offer is accepted, many financed purchases close in about 30 to 45 days, but your timeline may be shorter or longer.
