The Best High Schools In Hialeah Gardens

Moving onto high school, the top-recommended high schools are Hialeah Gardens High School and Mater Academy Charter High School. Neither high school has a consistent report from greatschools.org. However Mater Academy Charter High received an ‘“A” from the FDOE’s school accountability report, and Hialeah Gardens High received a “B.”

Mater Academy Charter High School is a part of the public charter school system like its 6-8 counterpart. Both Mater Academy Charter schools are located on the same campus and share the same web address. In order to attend either students have to apply and be selected. Hialeah Gardens High is a different story. Since it is a part of the Miami-Dade County public district school system, students do not have to apply to attend. 

Both Mater Academy Charter High and Hialeah Gardens High offer extensive opportunities for your child to participate in advanced learning programs and get a jumpstart on their college career. Hialeah Gardens High offers AP courses, the University of Cambridge program along with dual enrollment programs at both Miami Dade College and Florida International University. And Mater Academy Charter High also offers AP courses and a dual enrollment program at Miami Dade College. 

Mater Academy is a nationally certified STEM school. And it also has a separate award-winning performing arts academy on campus. US Newsweek ranked Mater’s Performing Arts and Entertainment Academy as the 372nd best high school in the nation out of around 18,000 other high schools.  

However, don’t overlook Hialeah Gardens High. Students attending Hialeah Gardens High have the choice to get ahead in their chosen career and take classes that are catered to their specific interests. Students can enroll in one of Hialeah Gardens High’s specialized academies that provide courses in agricultural science, finance, engineering, informational technology, arts and entertainment, hospitality and tourism, health sciences, education, and law studies.
